Over 30 % of previous SFSG fellows receive ERC grants

Our aim is that more researchers in Sweden will apply for – and be awarded – the prestigious grants from the ERC.

Since the start of SFSG eight of our fellows have been awarded ERC grants, two of them even twice. We note that the fellows have not only been successful in receiving individual grants (starting and consolidator grants) but have also received funding for international collaborations (synergy grants). We believe that this is a good result given that the competition for ERC funding is very tough.

The following fellows have received ERC grants.

  • Jenny Mjösberg (SFSG 2018) was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2019.
  • Jesper Wallentin (SFSG 2017) was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2018.
  • Joan Yuan (SFSG 2015) was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2016 and an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2023.
  • Karl Börjesson (SFSG 2015) was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2017 and an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2023.
  • Oksana Mont (SFSG 2015) was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2017.
  • Vicente Pelechano (SFSG 2016) was awarded an ERC Synergy Grant in 2023.
  • Wei-Li Hong (SFSG 2022) was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2023.
  • Emma Andersson (SFSG 2019) was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2024.
